A brief History of the Congregation

The Congregation of the Holy Spirit (Spiritans) was founded on Pentecost Sunday, May 27 1703 in Paris, France by a young man, Claude Poullart Des Places (1679-1709). Claude was not yet an ordained priest but had a deep calling to found a community of young men who would be dedicated to the Holy Spirit and who would be willing to go to where they were called by the Church. Claude Poullart des Places

(1679-1709) as the first founder

General Councils

The General Council is at the zenith of the administration of the congregation. It has its (Generalate) office in Rome. The members include;

Provincial Councils

Grouped into various Provinces, the congregation has Provincial Councils representing the General Council in the various Provinces of the congregation in administration. The members of Southwest Provincial council include;
